September Monthly Medal
Congratulations to Mitch Dyer on winning the November Monthly Medal. Mitch had a day out shooting a net 65 winning the medal by 2 shots. A strong start with a birdie on the 1st hole followed by pars on 3, 7 and 9 saw Mitch make the turn net 5 under. The back nine saw a steady string of bogeys finally finishing the day net 7 under.

Gerry Butler Plate
Last Sunday the club hosted it’s Annual Plate Day named after life member Gerry Butler. In windy conditions 27 four man teams representing 16 clubs from across Gippsland contested for the Plate. The Trafalgar number 3 team won with an incredible score of 116 points. The day wouldn’t have been a huge success without the help of the incredible team of volunteers which included Steve Henning, Pete Morris, Leanne Pollard, Glenda & Gordon Warren, Eddy Van Der Plight, Dermott Berkhout, Tristan Ashby and Summer Lakeman. I would also like to thank Randall for his help in organising the day.
While on the topic of Plate Days, many other Gippsland Clubs host Plate Days. Over the last few years, our club has sent teams to almost every Plate, however we are still looking for more players to join us on these days. Plate Days are an amazing way to play other courses relatively cheaply and meet new people from other clubs. If you are interested in playing in any of these please let me know or keep an eye out on the notice board for entry forms.
2024 Golf Competition Program
The 2024 Competition Program will be released shortly. Some new events are going to be held, as well as the return of some old events. Some minor changes will also occur to the Men’s midweek competitions. It looks like an exciting year ahead for golf.
That’s all for now and I’ll leave you with a quote from 9 time Major Champion Ben Hogan.
“Golf is a game of misses, the player who misses the best is going to win.”
Glenn Robinson
Captain
